Cookies and Web Beacons

As with most sites on the Internet, when you visit our Site, Living to 100™ may place a "cookie" on your computer that enables us to give you a better experience on the Site.

Internet cookies are small text files that save data about you as an individual visitor and help Living to 100™ deliver personalized content and other services in a manner convenient to you. When you first register or sign in, Living to 100™ places your member ID and e-mail address into a cookie file.

Many Web browsers are automatically set to accept cookies. You may change your browser settings to either reject cookies or notify you when a cookie is about to be placed on your computer. Please note, however, that rejecting cookies while visiting Living to 100™ may result in certain parts of the Site not operating correctly or as efficiently as they would with cookies.

Action Tags

We use and allow third-party service providers to use single pixel GIFs (also known as action tags or Web beacons) on the Site and also in HTML-based e-mails to let us know whether e-mails sent by us have been opened by recipients (including by anyone to whom an e-mail has been forwarded). This information helps us assess the effectiveness of our Site and of certain communications and marketing campaigns.

2. Use of Your Data

Use of your data for targeted advertising

By using the Life Expectancy Calculator, you have agreed to let us show you advertising on the site targeted to your personal health interests (for a full description of how this happens, see Section 4, "Are there advertisements on Living to 100's™ web site?"). As with most Web sites, we accept advertising and sponsorships as a way of keeping the tools, feedback, assessments, and newsletters free to our users. If you don't want to see such ads, you should not use the Living to 100™ website.

Use of your data to provide you services

There are situations, as noted above, in which Living to 100™ may retain your personal data. Your personal data is used to provide you services including the determination of your life expectancy, a customized feedback of what you are doing right and what you could improve upon (this may be for a fee), information about services that relate to the answers you provide on the Life Expectancy Calculator, and intermittent emails alerting you to new services or noteworthy items related to the Living to 100™ website.

If you choose or have chosen to become a member, then we will use your email address to be in communication with updates, the newsletter and prompts for the reassessment of your life expectancy and providing you with your revised personalized feedback. If you have given us your e-mail address, you can always elect to stop receiving Living to 100™ E-Mails by notifying us at or by following the instructions that appear in Living to 100™ E-mails.

Use of your financial information to process your payment

There may be instances in which you are requested to provide a payment to use the Life Expectancy Calculator. This information includes your credit card number, billing address (including street address, city, state, country, and zip code), and phone number. In the case of the one-time payment option in which you receive a one-time feedback, these data will not be associated with the information you provide to determine your life expectancy.

Anonymizing your data

We may anonymize your data by excluding all information that could reasonably identify you. We analyze these anonymous data combined with the anonymized data of other users of the Living to 100™ website to help us make improvements to the website and to potentially make these data available to third parties at our discretion.

Providing Your Personal Data to Others

Keeping your personal data safe and confidential is of the utmost importance to us. Any offer we conduct where your Personal Information will be shared with a partner will be clearly marked as such, so you will know prior to participating that you may be contacted directly by a third party. Your participation in these offers is completely voluntary, and you will never be required to participate in order to enjoy the other content and services available on our Site.

Providing your Personal Information to certain third-party service providers

We will provide your personal information to third-party service providers, such as companies that we use, for example, to electronically send Living to 100™ E-mails and to provide security for the data that you share with us -- whose role is solely to provide operational support for Living to 100™. These companies must agree NOT to use or disclose that information for any other purpose. Living to 100™ strives to ensure that any third-party service provider to which Living to 100™ discloses Personal Information is contractually obligated to use the Personal Information solely for the purposes for which it was disclosed, even though these third-party service providers are independent companies over which Living to 100™ exercises no control. Living to 100™ is not responsible for, and will not be liable for, their conduct, actions, omissions, information handling, or dissemination practices.

Merging your Registration Information

We will combine your registration information with other, optional types of Personal Information that you provide to us voluntarily, such as merging your health-related information from taking the Living to 100™ Calculator with your responses to surveys, health assessments, and questionnaires offered by Living to 100™. In other words, we will combine basic Registration Information you provide to us (e-mail address, user name, password, age, gender, and zip code) with additional information you provide. This lets us send you relevant e-mails and display advertising to you on our Site that we think will be of interest, as further described in Section 4, "Are there advertisements on Living to 100's™ web site?"

Living to 100™ may, in order to comply with relevant Federal, State or local laws, be required to provide your personal data in response to legal actions or legal proceedings that are required to protect Living to 100™ services or the rights and property of Living to 100™.
